My Computers
The Bit-Crunching Crew that Lives in My House

Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon

The big boy! 2GB of RAM, 4 hard drives, ATI Radeon X1900 512MB. It dual-boots to Windows XP for gaming, and I've got a VirtualBox of Ubuntu.
Compaq SR5110NX

The absolute cheapest PC we could get at Best Buy. This is Sarah's. She's quite attached to the Windows side of things. It runs Windows Vista Home Basic, and really, I don't mind it...but then, I don't do much with it. I have Mythbuntu installed on a 2nd drive. It didn't work out so well, so I'll probably wipe it out soon and try plain old Kubuntu.
MacBook Pro 2GHz Core Duo

"Redshirt". He takes risks that other computers dare not. He gets updates that haven't gone through the "let other people upgrade and find the bugs" safety period. He jumps on wireless networks with weird names.
G5 Dual 1.8GHz PowerMac

My machine at work. Not technically a "bit-cruncher that lives in my house", but every once in a great while, it visits. I'm looking forward to replacing it with an Intel Mac, but not looking forward to having to use PPC software on it until we can buy updates.
7500 PowerMac

This was my first Mac...I got it in college, on the Apple loan...which led me to hate loans. It still runs, but it takes a couple of boot attempts before the hard drive realizes it's time to crawl back to life. "Why do you disturb my sleep, fleshy?" [shakes tiny SCSI fist]
HP Ancient Laptop

The LCD's backlight is out, limiting the use of this thing. That, and the 256 MB of RAM. I've tried to find a Linux distro that would both tolerate the low RAM, and not annoy me greatly. Nothing yet. I did get an SFTP server going...maybe I should resurrect that.
Commodore 64

I have two of these...one was my wife's family's, and the other was Mark's family's. Sarah enjoys typing in the "graphic mode".
Atari 800 :

My cousin gave me this, in the hopes that I could get it to run...haven't had any luck yet.
Amiga 500 :

Mark gave this to me...I wish it had a hard drive...that would make it a lot more fun...I can't stand disk juggling.
